Description
Handsome, wealthy and an accomplished rider, Trydon, Duke of Westacre is overwhelming popular with Society ladies. So much so that he's sick to death of the constant matchmaking by his Godmother and countless Society 'mamas' and rides away through the night to Brighthelmstone in search of peace. What he encounters there is quite the opposite. In the foggy darkness, he stumbles across a gang of smugglers. When they mistake him for one of their own, he finds himself embroiled in their crime and is amazed to discover that their leader is a young woman! What follows is a helter-skelter adventure in which an aristocrat becomes a smuggler and strives to save his 'Amazon' gang leader from the blackmail that has brought her to criminality. Uncovering a French plot to assassinate the Prince Regent, he enlists the lovely Georgia, his smuggling Amazon, in a mission to expose the assassin. And amidst events fraught with danger, Trydon and Georgie's mutual suspicion turns first to admiration, then trust and finally to a contraband kind of love.
