These unfortunate events led to the formation of the International Integrated Reporting Council (IIRC) and the development of integrated reporting practices. The IIRC promotes its practices as having the ability to enable an integrated business thinking that considers all factors that influence a corporation's ability to create sustainable value. The purpose of this book is to advocate, explain and demonstrate the strategic use of the IIRC's practices as agents of internal change and sustainable value creator within business environments. Since the strategic use of these practices as agents of change is a developing phenomenon, business environments might lack knowledge about how to apply these practices.
