Description

Sleep deprivation can cause the mind to take you to dark and even traumatic places. "In the Middle of the Night," is a short collection of poetry that was written during a time the author hoped to forget, but chooses to write about instead. The first section of this book, entitled, "For my parents," is dedicated solely to her parents. In this section, she expresses how she's managed to come to terms with the death of both her parents during the most crucial times in her life. The second section, "For my people," expresses in short, many of the injustices our people are subjected to both in the Caribbean and abroad. "For my love," the final section, delves into the mind of a multifaceted woman. This section takes a look into the sensual and vulnerable aspects of the soul.
