However, one greedy moonshiner, Layton, threatens to expose her and pulls a gun on her demanding that she give him a bigger share of the take. On the trail down the mountain from the still while trying to disarm him she kills Layton. She gets one of her friends to get rid of the body and another still operator to take over Layton's still. Then in Cincinnati during lunch, Johnnie looks at a tree floating down the river and spots a body that will lead back to West Virginia and to the stills producing the moonshine. Alex leads the team to West Virginia on the hunt for the identity of the body in the tree branches. There she learns the identity of the person she suspects of having shot the Layton Harris. The person is tracked and finally apprehended without a gun battle. Everything falls into place and a Hillary is tried and sentenced. She cannot envision a life in prison and makes her escape. She thinks about her options, and they all seem very bleak. Once there she waits outside of the home of the one person she knows who will help her. Once she spots that person getting ready to unlock her bike from the rack, she steps around the corner. She fire her weapon twice and keeps walking forward. She watches as that person's lightening reaction delivers the help that she was seeking.
