The Determined Pursuit
(eBook)
Description
In 1807, South Carolina tradition expects women to marry and have families when they come of age. Kaitlyn Masters, a head strong 20 year old raven haired beauty refuses to honor that tradition. Her ultimate dream is to take over the family business when her father retires and become a successful female shipping owner. Her father, James, however, is not of like mind. He wants his only remaining child to marry and start a family. His rejection of her dream leads her to take drastic measures and travel to another continent where she is swept into seduction, intrigue and danger. The eldest of three brothers, thirty-two year old British shipping magnet Reece Tennyson is married to his family's business and his love of thoroughbred horses. Much to his mother's chagrin, however, he has no interest in expanding the family line of succession and leaves that responsibility to his two younger brothers. His female socialization is limited to a professional arrangement between he and his mistress on an as-needed basis. Fate, however, has different plans when he receives word he fathered a child in the Americas. Much to his own surprise, his paternal protective instincts awaken and propel a relentless search that takes him across the ocean and back to find his child. While returning to London, Reece and Kaitlyn's lives become intertwined amidst passion, mystery and danger. Will their determined pursuits bring them closer together or drive them apart?
