Description
A thought-provoking, dystopian romantic novelette.Caleb lost his soulmate, Valerie. Could it be possible to find her in a parallel universe? If his father succeeds to open the portal, will he find the same person in the alternate universe or a stranger? How far is he willing to go in finding the happiness he lost? Will he find his soulmate, Valerie?"Fascinated by the subject of the afterlife, I gravitated toward the short story which delves into "parallel universes" (multiverses) - alternate realities. Categorized as Science Fiction Romance-the logic and plausibility forthcoming from a scientific breakthrough, paved the way for me to appreciate the romance aspect. The author peels back layers of raw emotions for the reader to feel Caleb's and Valerie's anguish over each other's loss. I highly recommend this short story which opens the door to speculation."~Eva Pasco"Erika writes a tale that all of us who have experienced loss wish for. What if in a parallel universe our loved one still exists and can return to us. I love how Erika explained the issues. It was also nice seeing not everything goes according to plan. Sometimes our path to happiness is not the one we think it is."~Cindy J. Smith I became an avid reader at a very early age, thanks to my dad who introduced me to many great books. The writing bug bit me much later, on a rainy afternoon, when I couldn't find any new book to read. My daughter had enough of my moping around and snapped at me, "Mom, stop whining! If you haven't a book to read, then write one." Her challenge shocked me, but I started playing with the idea and I've been writing stories, that I like to read, ever since. I write speculative alternate history fiction, romantic urban fantasy, historical suspense novels as well as fun, educational, and bilingual books for children ages 2-14 about acceptance, friendship, family, and moral values such as accepting people with disabilities, dealing with bullies, and not judging others before getting to know them. I also like to encourage children to use their imagination and daydream about fantasy worlds.
