Description
Historian Peter F. Stevens recounts the journey of the American whaling barque Catalpa, which embarked on a year-long mission of international rescue when it set sail from New Bedford, Massachusetts in April 1875. The goal of the ship's captain, George Anthony: to liberate a group of Irishmen known as " The Fremantle Six" from an Australian prison and the British Navy.
