General Note
Author Mindy F. Reed grew up in Guilford, Connecticut on Long Hill Road and graduated from Guilford Senior High School in 1974. Living in Austin, Texas for the past thirty-five years, Mindy Reed is a librarian, editor, and writer. Her short story collection "Women of a Certain Age: Short Stories of the Twientieth Century" was published in February of 2018. The book is part of the Austin Public Library collection adn is under consideration by the NOLA public library. The fictional town of Avery, Connecticut was inspired by her upbringing in Guilford. Avery will also be featured in the author's upcoming novel "This is the Dawning: A Woodstock Love Story."
