Christopher O'Reilly a man who begins the long walk home after fighting the losing effort of the civil war. Spending two years as a prisoner of war in a Union Prisoner of War Camp is difficult he maintains his sanity, but not his faith. The terrible war of bloodshed and horror leaves him confused with the God of love he grew up with in the Catholic orphanage. Meeting this strong willed women challenges him. She challenges him to find peace with God, which he struggles with. Redemption will come only if he chooses to accept it.
