In Our Time by Ernest Hemingway was one of his first books written of short stories, published in 1925. Ernest Hemingway's writing style attracted Edmund Wilson, a literary critic, who considered "In Our Time" one of Hemingway's first masterpieces. This title was derived from the English Book of Common Prayer, "Give peace in our time, O Lord." The themes of the short stories include those of alienation, grief, loss, separation.
