Zora and me
(Book)
Description
When a young man's body is found by the railroad tracks, the mysterious murder threatens the peace of the small town of Eatonville, Florida. Zora believes she knows who the murderer is: a shape-shifting gator-man with a hunger for human voices. She and her best friends, Carrie and Teddy, set out to prove this theory. In a search for the terrifying spectre, the three friends stumble onto a truth more chilling even than the nightmares of their own imagining. Set in the hometown of American author Zora Neale Hurston, this fictionalized coming-of-age story is the first project ever to be endorsed by the Zora Neale Hurston Trust that was not written by Hurston herself. (From back cover)
