Housekeeping: a novel
(CD Audiobook)
Description
Follow Ruth and her younger sister throughout their haphazard adventures. Their mother tragically drove off a cliff to her death, leaving the rest of the family to take care of her daughters. They have been shuffled between their grandmother and their bumbling great-aunts, until finally Sylvie, their eccentric and remote aunt, agreed to take them under her wing. Ruth and Lucille's struggle toward adulthood beautifully illuminates the price of loss and survival.
